Vauxhall Corsa VXR, Arctic Edition
by Grant Draper
Vauxhall have pushed the boat out a little this year, and their stand, at this years British International Motor Show, will feature a slightly radical high-performance Corsa, which is set to wow the crowd, with it’s styling and mechanical modifications.
Accoridng to Vauxhall, just 500 examples of the VXR Arctic Edition will roll off the production line, and into Vauxhall dealerships, which almost certainly mean they will sell out within a matter of weeks.
Features of the new VXR Arctic Edition include Glacier White paintwork, low profile 225/35 tyres which will be fitted to 18″ black alloy wheels and a Remus sports exhaust is also included.
Standard equipment on the Arctic will also include an electric glass sunroof with interior blind, dark tinted rear windows and black roof and door mirrors.
The VXR Arctic edition is basically a VXR in it’s simple mechanical form, but the addition of the Remus Sports Exhaust boosts the overall power from the Corsa VXR from it’s base of 189bhp, to an astounding 204bhp, which makes this, with a list price of just £16,995, the highest performing Vauxhall Corsa, ever.
The VXR Arctic edition won’t be alone, fast Vauxhall editions which will run alongside it include a VXR8, which uses a monstrosity of a 425bhp 6.2 litre V8 engine.
