Car retailer bucks the trend
by Simon Harrison
If there was an award for bucking the credit crunch trend, then it would definitely go to autoquake.com, an online retailer that has seen around 200 percent growth over the last 6 months and shows no signs of slowing down just yet.
Autoquake has managed to take over the Vickers tank factory at Radial Park, Leeds, which will allow it to hold around 10,000 vehicles, per year, or any 1,000 vehicles at one time.
This is due to its incredible size of 250,000 sq ft, which include 6 acres of indoor space and is over a quarter of a mile long!
The current location for Autoquake is in Birmingham, although this move would see relocate to Yorkshire by the middle of 2009, with potentially another opening in London towards the end of the year.
Autoquake bosses are expecting to see even more increases in sales, bumping their output this year to around 15,000 vehicles, which is an absolutely phenomenal amount, especially in this climate.
