Kia Picanto

There has been mixed opinions from manufacturers relating to the scrappage scheme brought in by the Government in May.

Some say it has increased or decreased their sales now, while other suggests that the long term affect could be negative, with a sudden rush of car sales now. It seems consumers are looking for the cheapest and most economical car possible.

One manufacturer that is not complaining for the time being is Kia. The Government Scrappage Scheme has meant that the current Picanto model is in such high demand that it is likely to run out if the orders keep coming in.

They are developing the new one, but it won’t be hitting UK show rooms until at least autumn, by which point, they may have to stop taking orders.

The popularity of the Picanto and the introduction of the Scrappage Scheme has meant that orders are already backed up right until September. This is causing problems for dealers who may feel that they are not turning over the number of cars that they possibly could.

Kia hasn’t set the price for the Picanto yet, but have suggested that it is likely to similarly priced, and just as popular!
