Mazda3 Start/Stop

Mazda3 Start/Stop

Mazda have taken a great deal of care when redeveloping their Mazda3. It is not just the vehicle itself that has been revamped, but the range as well. Their line up will now include a 2.0 Sport model, which will be available for the minimal price of £18,025 and available with trims that include both four and five doors.

The Sport model will include a fairly tasty engine. Mazda has decided to fit it with the powerful 149bhp petrol engine, which is a two litre. This means that it will hit a top speed of 130mph, and hit 62mph from a standstill in just 10.4 seconds. The great thing about the new Mazda3 is while it boasts a powerful engine and excellent performance figures, it still has an extremely good fuel economy.

This is mainly due to the fact that it uses i-stop technology. This means that when the vehicle is traveling at 2mph or less, the engine will cut out, saving fuel. It will automatically restart within 0.35seconds of being needed.

The result is that it will have a fuel economy on the combined cycle of more than 41mpg, whilst CO2 emissions are extremely low at just 159g/km, which means just £150 per year in car tax.
