New Citroen C3

by Grant Draper
New Citroen C3

The Citroen C3 has been one of the most popular vehicles in their range, especially since it is one of the most eco friendly. According to Citroen though, it is time for a change. They have fully redesigned the C3, and the new model will be hitting the UK at the start of 2010.

The Geneva International Motor Show saw Citroen release their DS Inside Concept. In fact, the new C3 possesses quite a few similarities, and it could be said it was the inspiration for the new design.

Unfortunately the huge Citroen style front windscreen is still present, so the front passengers will be covered by it. As far as size goes the luggage capacity has been increased from 282 litres right up to 300 litres. The good thing here is that no seats need to be removed to feel the benefit of the extra space.

Even the drive area of the C3 has been modified. They will be offering a HDi 90 turbo diesel initially, which according to their official figures produces just 99g/km. The 2011 model is likely to be inclusive of a start stop system, as well as various other modifications, bring CO2 emissions down to just 90g/km. Of course, both the above figures mean that the C3 will be completely exempt from road tax!
