Bentley Mulsanne
by Grant Draper
Back in June, Bentley did a huge press release relating to a new release of theirs. Finally, the covers have been taken off their new release, which was revealed to the crowds at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance event in California. The new vehicle has been labeled as the Mulsanne.
Bentley used a 1930 8 litre to showcase alongside the new Mulsanne. This is because Bentley believe that the 1930 model was the best production car to roll off their factories, until now, so wanted to allow people to compare.
The design team has been led through by Dirk van Braeckel. As the new Bentley is using a whole new platform, the design needed to replicate that. Even so, there is a slight Bentley feel to the whole vehicle. Just looking at the rear of the vehicle gives it all away!
Of course, Bentley want to keep potential consumers in suspense for the time being, so they are not releasing any more details for the time being. The Frankfurt is just around the corner though, so it is expected that they will give out full details then. Once the details have been revealed, Bentley will sell the Mulsanne from the middle of next year at £250,000.
Bentley is still refusing to give away many details about the car, but will release full details at the Frankfurt Show next month. The Mulsanne will then go on sale in mid-2010, probably not costing less than £250,000.
