Hyundai ix35

Hyundai ix35

Hyundai like many will be looking to make the most of the Frankfurt Motor Show and embed as big an impact as possible. They will feature a new compact SUV which is based on a concept that was released towards the start of 2009.

The original concept released earlier this year at the Geneva International Motor Show in March, was labeled as the ix-onic. It seems that Hyundai were not so keen on the name, so have now changed the name to the ix35.

Of course, this is an entirely new model, but it does have a purpose. Hyundai has said that it will replace the current Tucson model. This is mainly due to the fact that the Tucson has been outdated for quite a while, and it was easier to design a completely new car, rather than redesign the current one.

Like many manufacturers, this is just a focus for Hyundai. There will be plenty of other developments concepts and production cars on display, including the likes of the Santa Fe which has been adapted to house a diesel engine, as well as upgraded steering and suspension systems. The details of the new Santa Fe are likely to be released near, or at the show itself.
