It would help you more than most then, riskey58!!
I've done the google / map quest stuff a lot. For areas that I know, it's great. But did you ever miss a turn following map quest directions?? It is NOT pretty. Then you have to go by a map that you likely will never use again and figure out how to get from where you are to where you want to be in the directions.... I've used the Hertz Nerverlost system a lot - it's good enough to make me think that having Nav in my car would be useful. In Germany, however, I rented a BMW w their Nav system and it was AMAZING. Not only did it get me door to door on a number of 3+ hour trips (in English), it also got me around multiple traffic jams as it incorporated the broadcast traffic information into real-time updates of my route. THAT my friends, is worth the cost after 1 experience. Think about it the next time you're on step 14 of 50 on your Google directions and stuck in traffic, with no idea how to get around it..... ;O) BTW, I have yet to buy a Nav system for my own car. That's your grain of salt for you. :O) |

I personally dont have one. I get them recommended to me all of the time though. I am the most directionally challenged person you will ever meet.
Drives my friends crazy. I doubt a navigation system would help much, I bet I could still get lost. |
