My dad still takes himself out for a ride every now and then. It seems like I always have a destination in mind when I go, but he can just drive around for hours and come back home.

My husband and I will do that when we get a chance. We'll jump in the truck or on the motorcycle and just drive for no particular reason and without any destination in mind.

My kids are grown and have there have their own families. But my husband still take rides all the time. We enjoy them. Of course a ride cost more then they used to with the price of gas.

I always take my son for a drive on sunday nights. I usually make some music for the car and we hope on the high way and just drive until he falls asleep.

Great thread. Shame so many people today with their work/home lifestyles do not get the time to get out and see the country that they live in. I remember often going on weekend drives with my parents when i was a schoolboy and then again when i had passed my driving test whilst still at school and at Uni. Once i started working, i've found i rarely go out for a drive unless its to a course, conference or to meet friends.

I have started a thread in The Bar called "Keeping comfortable whilst on the road. Good posture whilst driving". I would really be keen to find out the numbers of people on this site that suffer with back or neck pain while or soon after driving and any soultions they have found to help them. I am planning on putting together some of the tips i already give my patients to help them increase their comfort. It may be helpful.

Thanks
Prab
