Default 99 Subaru Forester P0452 code

My 1999 Subaru Forester has a DTC of P0452. Along with this code, I occasionaly see one or more misfire codes (P0301-P0304). Initially, when I want to start the car, it does not run right away. Sometimes in the second or third try. Also, when the car needs to move, or accelerate rather quickly, then the engine hesitates, and check engine light starts to blink.

I have replaced the ignition wires, and checked spark plugs. They seem to be OK. The air filter is very clean, and when the above symptoms are not happening, the car is running near perfect.

I have checked the code P0452 online. It says "Fuel tank pressure sensor circuit low". I don't know what it means, and if the problem has anything to do with the FT pressure sensor.

Can anybody help, please? Also, I will appreciate the info about the FT pressure sensor, the function and what happens when it fails.

Thanks

This needs to be checked with a smoke machine to see where the EVAP system is leaking. You also have the gas cap checked (most inspection stations with advanced inspections can do this) The pressure sensor monitors the tank and EVAP system for leaks, part of the OBD2 system.

Misfires an be a bunch of stuff, including the wrong type of spark plugs, bad coil etc. See a professional mechanic on this one.
