how much $$$? in most cases, its better off building your own box. Buy the subs first, and based on manufacturer's specs or doing a little math from the sub's TS specs, you'll be better able to make a box catered for the subs specifically. i.e., i calculated that my subs would need 1.9cu.ft. each in a sealed enclosure, and that the qts being at .69, it'll sound tighter in the sealed enclosure, rather than making a ported enclosure. you can always build a ported enclosure anyway and work out port length/diameter to tune a frequency more compensating to your total q's.
all in all, buy the sub, then the box. you wanna make sure the box is suited for your subs. my friend got a pre-made box, and its terrible for his JL's, he is robbing those drivers of its full potential by sooo much. also, for about $7 for a large peice of MDF from Home Depot, its a lot cheaper to build it yourself, too. |

sure, a bit of work, but nicer in the long run imo. as long as you get enough bracing, and enough space between each screw, its all simple. just use a jigsaw to get the circle cutout and rectangles, n just sand it out. use some silicone or liquid nail and screw those bad boys up. if you want a more complicated box, i can even design it for you on SolidWorks and send you the plan for like 10 bux.
