Check out the VLS that detracing.com has... http://www.deftracing.com/vertical_d...sion/index.htm

It lifts straight up, it's not hard to get in or out, from what I hear... and you don't have to cut or roll the fenders...

^Damn, I'm sry... I forgot that those are for the Stealths/3000Gts...

If you get a "universal" kit, it's gonna take a lot of modification/fabrication to your car... get one that is pre-built to your specific car... that will cost more, but won't be as big a pita to install

Same here, I always liked how stylish it was to open vertically, but on the other hand it may be a cry of attention spray-painted "steal me!"

I wonder how long the hinges last, typically?

I assume it's harder on them to hold the door up in position like that when it's open, than it would be if they were just swinging open normally.

the metals are reinforced. I don't think it's any harder on them than it is on trunks or hoods with gas shocks, and they usually last years (the shocks), the hinges usually last the lifetime of the car... So, I suppose it's the same with the vertical doors.

I'd like to see some gullwing door kits...(look up the Delorean if you don't know what a gullwing door is). (or just go here: gull-wing door: Definition and Much More from Answers.com)

Actually, I'd flip to see something hatchback (like the old skool honda civics) with some sliding doors (like van doors)... I think that would just be sick
