Good news! I've just upgraded the forums to vbulletin!
I've also installed a couple of different anti-spam plugins, so hopefully that should help address that issue. One of them prevents new members posting links when they have less than 10 posts - the other will prevent posts being published if they contain spam keywords. I've also changed the forum layout so that there are fewer boards - but more topics in each board. Just didn;t make sense to have more than a dozen boards with no more than 2-3 topics in each. Bad news, though! We may have lost some avatars and images along the way. Sorry about that - I can try and recover from the old SMF forum archive, but the problem is that when the images are stored in a database, they can be difficult to copy out. ALSO: I'm afraid everyone will need to recover their password in order to login again. Unfortunately, vbulletin cannot convert passwords from SMF, so you'll need to request new passwords resent to you. If anyone has any problems logging in, please do contact me at brian at britecorp .co.uk Any other questions, feel free to ask. |

I think George ran a competition originally to draw in members - any recommendations of something relatively inexpensive but desirable? I'm thinking maybe one or two things around $50-$150. Sorry, can't donate an auto.
