Default Car parts

Does anyone know any good sites for used car parts? I check the local salvage shop every now and then - but they never seem to have what I need.

Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market ,they usually have some good parts... I'd suggest googling the subject, you'll find tons of hits...

(Sry it took me so long to reply, I've been absent awhile)

With Tootie, my VW, I have started looking on Ebay and some specialty bug shops. I tend to have better luck on Ebay in terms of price.

I have a question. Why does it cost so much more to get your car parts from a dealer? I can't believe the differenc e in the price. They have to be making a killing on their parts.

oem products come at a premium. i will say that all oem parts are top notch pieces. some of which are better than any non-oem part.

Sometimes that is quite the opposite, some OEM parts can be worse than aftermarket parts. OEM brake pads aren't always the best. I usually swap my brakes out for ceramics. They're usually semi-metallic (IIRC) and create lots of dust and have bad brake fade (if you drive hard).

Although I do (generally) agree with your statement. Like on the Mitsubishi's, never use an aftermarket throw out bearing. The stock ones are the best that you can use. I tore some stuff up using aftermarkets, and they make a lot of noise right before going out.
