I used to drive long distances alone before I had a CD player in my car. I'd get books on tape from the library to help pass the time. It would be even better with books on CD.
Is anybody else into this? |

Nope, don't read much (not books anyway), and I never was a fan of book on tape...
google books on CD, and I came up with 319,000,000 results... there are plenty of sites out there to find them... lol what are your favorites? |

This was a few years ago, and I'd use them for car trips that were sometimes six hours or more. Back then, there was a fairly limited selection from the local library.
I'd listen to music, too. |

I think they can be fun for the whole family - depending on what kind you get. The Chronicles of Narnia are available on tape or CD and they are fun. Anything that is done more like a radio production than just someone reading the book is interesting!

I have to listen to music, talking/reading would put me to sleep.
I have heard these kinds of stories acted out on the radio before, but I was a kid and always fell asleep to them (lol, maybe not a bad idea for road trips with the kids...) |

I tend to get sleepy driving long distances anyway. I am afraid someone reading to me in a monotone voice would just compltely put me out. I tend to listen to music very loudly and sing along with it.
