Many of the internals are actually kept, just inspected. They do replace rings and such, and the transmission internals since they use a centrifugal clutch.

It is a thing of beauty to watch them do things like that in such a short time.

I've seen an exploding engine. It was on a motorcycle. A piston went right through the guy's arm.... it was sick...

I bet that hurt! I have seen engines explode but never seen a piston leave the block, although I have seen a rod stick out of it.

yeah, they do replace whatever needs to be replaced. they check and test internals first.

American Muscle power baby, mod to mod, nothing can beat American muscle!!

I love to watch those races.. you just can't get your eyes away from the track but once someone wrecks, it gets so boring, wait 1 hour for them to clean and get the track ready for run, etc. but it is always fun!

I've got to disagree about the American Muscle. Why do you think that all these little highschool kids are running Hondas. They get lightweight cars that can acheive notable hp with a couple of mods (not talking a/b the ricers, and I am talking about turbos). The little Japanese cars are just too damn cheap and have too much an aftermarket...

go mod the hell out of those little cars and mod the hell out of an American Muscle and see who is gonna run faster. check all those fast cars at track, how many of them little import cars? they are all American Muscle. there is only one japanese car running fast at tracks is supra, even they can't beat American Muscle! no matter what they do to their car. the fastest supra runs 8 sec. and American Muscle runs normally 6 sec. and those dragster American Muscles runs 4 sec on a 1/4 mile!! there are 6 secong streetable American Muscles out there.. show me how many of those little turboed cars in 6 sec? let me tell you, NONE!
There was one little car, i say weights at the most 1500lbs, rotary engine, BIG turbo and TON of boost, he would run 8 sec. all day. American Muscle is Way heavier and was kicking his butt at track!

there are faster imports cars on the streets but as i said Mod to Mod, American Muscle > All.
Mike, even if you would be milllioner, you couldn't make your car a 6 sec. car, Unless you swap an American Muscle Engine! see what i am talking about?

V-8 owns!

John Shephard 7sec Eagle Talon (AWD, street Legal)!!!!

Brent Rau (modified RWD Eclipse) 6sec passes (not street legal)

I've also seen a 2000hp+ Acura Integra (not street legal) I b/l it was 6's (top fuel dragster)

Do I need to do more research, I'll find vids/links later... I'll show ya, imports aren't all that bad...

and can you please show me which kind of engine those cars have..

i know that acura integra with 2000 HP has v8 in it!
^well, the American Muscles are RWD and allow for bigger blocks, where as the sport compacts from Japan (for the most part) are FWD and weigh less.

The Integra actually has 4000hp, I was off, but it is still a 4-cylinder engine
Norwood Racing's 4,000 hp Max-4 Integra - Tech Review - Turbo Magazine

The Talon driven by John Shephard is the same in my car, he has different internals,etc... but it is a 4g63. 7.7's to date
::Shepracing.com - Race Car::

Oh, and what happens to be rotated to a RWD setup in Brent Rau's 96 Eclipse, other than a 4g63. 6.9's to date

when i used to live in europe, we all drove imports, 4 bangers, raced 4 bangers and loved them but i always knew, American Muscle was whole another story! back in 60s-70s American Muscle ruled the streets and in 90s Imports came up and 2003+ American Muscle took back the streets.

check this out,

let me ask you this then, mod to mod American Muscle or an Import?

i ain't having a war with imports. i got very nice buddys with evos, stis. and kick ass rides.. and there are ton of faster imports. but the turth is truth. i have a buddy with 1990 fox buddy and running low 7s and diriving the car all around the streets.

those numbers are very rare for imports and very common for American Muscle.

Don't get me wrong Mike.. i have respect for fast cars.. i do have respect you as a friend here.. that is just my opinion.. fast car is fast car and have respects on the streets, as long as they are not riced out.
