I sure wouldn't mind... we have no real racing tracks nearby... one 1/8th track... anything 1/4 is too far away...

there's a local guy with a private track... good for racing full mile races... but no events would be held there (it's private, and doesn't have all the benefits of a real track, just a strip of almost straight road to race...)

i travel up to 7 hours to go to the races once or twice a year. it is so worth it.

if you ever go, bring good ear protection. you have not heard loud cars until you have heard a top fuel dragster launch!

fyi, they have around 7-8000hp! imagine that.

Fun facts

7000-8000hp... that's insane... but you've also gotta remember the motors last all of one event, and they have several replacements on standby

they use the same block for quite a while actually.

after each run they do a complete tear down and rebuild and test in 45 minutes. they let you watch this too. they do it so all can see. it is beautiful.

maybe it's a different event I'm thinking of... I knew they continued to use the block, but most of the internals are replaced and checked after each race.

the engines do frequently explode, so then they will need a new engine.
