ss1129:umm if anything 390 crank was overrated, like ford always does. In fact they are slower in the 1/4 bone stock than a 98-02 fbody. I would need to see the car and a dyno sheet in order to believe 370 rwhp stock from one.

Look at the weights and gear ratios of the two cars also. That has a lot to do with the speeds. You also have to remember there were a few different engine blocks in the Cobras.

trick-r-treat:They are both very clean vehicles. If I had to choose though, I would have kept the 'stang'.

They are both "stangs" one was a GT with a V8 Naturally aspirated. The other(cobra) was a V8 with a supercharger. Different bodies too though (cobra is an '03, the GT was an '06[newer body style])

Its not a Chevy vs Ford discussion. Its a "theres no way it dynoed 370 rwhp on any dyno yet alone a mustang dyno" discussion. Someone is lying or the car was modded. There are no ifs ands or buts about it. It is physiclly impossible to have a 390 hp car lose a max of 20 hp through the trans and rearend to lay down 370 rwhp. Im rasing the bs flag. Post a dyno sheet or post your real numbers. Better yet take it to the track. Im not trying to be a hater, I just dont like fib stories.

Cobras are slower on 1/4 mile than 00-02 fbodies? where did you get that information? I ran bone stock with 12.70 with 2.1 60' and trapped 113mph on street tires with letting off because of wheel hop. 03/04 cobras are 12.5 sec cars with good driving and some traction. My best trap was 114mph and f-bdies with very good driver trap like 107-108mph at the most, normally 104-106mph

I killed a few bolts on LS1s at track. one had drag radials and he out launched me and i caught him on 1/8th mile and passed hm and put like 2-3 cars on him.

I guess you need a ride in an 03/04 cobra. about 370rwhp. that was on a MUSTANG dyno and everyone knows mustang dyno reads less than dynojet. tuner said that if it would have been dynojet, it would have been 400+rwhp.

My car is stock, stock pulley, stock intake, exhaust and tune. i personally asked them to check my car and see if it is modded and they did and they even checked the computer and they said the car is completely stock!

cobras are like 425-435hp cars from the factory and underrated for insurance purposes. i have seen cobras dynoed 393rwhp - 395rwhp.

My buddy has cam only LS1 with exhaust & lid (AUTO) we race and he always gets me from a dig due to big stall converter but from a roll, i beat him everytime.

I have no idea where did you hear that stock fbodies are running faster times on a 1/4 mile than stock cobras but i gotta say that is wrong. with only avarge driver, you run 12s with cobras and with avarge driver you run mid 13s with f-bodies.

you asked for dyno sheet and here it is.
(if you don't believe numbers, call D.I.D. engineering and asked them about yellow cobra that they dynoed and it put down 370rwhp and ask them if it was stock. their mechanic personally checked the car all over. DandD Engineering Ltd. Web Page





check it out, stock pulley and you can see the center of pulley, NOT EXPOSED, which means never been pullied.. bought the car from a 60 year old guy.
