Default RE: Post your system

I have to admit that I am completely out of the loop when it comes to sound systems. Have thought of installing an amp and sub woofer to my '99 passat - but do not know where to start.

Is this stuff pretty easy to wire, etc ?? I am hands on for pretty much all mechanical and electrical issues with the car - can these items be installed by me - without having to pay any installation charges to an outside source ??

The only upgrade to date is replacing the 6 cd changer in the trunk with a 20 Gig phatbox.

A lot of the work can be done at home, but that also depends on the extent of the work you want done. Generally, I find electrical all that much easier to work on in vehichles than any other problem that might arise.
